Introduction

Mulberry leaves are native to China, South Korea and Japan, and are grown in 50% of the world's countries. China is the largest mulberry-growing country, and mulberry leaves 

are the main product of mulberry trees, accounting for 64% of the aboveground production. It is a common Chinese medicinal material, mostly picked after the frost in late 

autumn. After drying, the mulberry leaves are crisp, have a slight smell, and taste light and slightly bitter. They are often called "frost mulberry leaves" or "winter mulberry 

leaves", implying their picking season and medicinal effects. In traditional medicine, mulberry leaves appear in a variety of formulas for different health conditioning.

Function

1. Hypoglycemic effect. The alkaloid DNJ (1-deoxynojirimycin) contained in mulberry leaf extract can inhibit the absorption of disaccharides by the small intestine, 

reduce the peak blood sugar level after eating, promote insulin secretion, improve sugar metabolism, and have potential therapeutic effects on diabetes;

2. Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Mulberry leaf extract is rich in active ingredients such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and polysaccharide compounds. It has antioxidant, 

antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, can improve the immunity of animal bodies, and is widely used in livestock, poultry, ruminants and aquaculture;

3. Regulate intestinal function. Mulberry leaf extract can affect the human intestine, promote digestion and absorption, regulate the balance of flora, enhance the intestinal

mucosal barrier function, improve immunity, and promote the recovery of intestinal diseases;
